Legend has it that Swedish musicians of the day were able to get a tax deduction for clothing costs, but only for “Fantasy Costumes”, which meant costumes that couldn’t possibly be worn outside the confines of a gig. Hilarity ensued…
These days, we practically genuflect if a band comes onstage wearing matching black t-shirts. I think only Of Montreal really qualifies in the Fantasy Costume arena at this point. By the way, here’s a track from their new, head-spinning album, Skeletal Lamping.
